New Board Member - Dustin Tetrault

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Sheridan, Montana, April 4, 2024) – Dustin Tetrault has been appointed by the Ruby Valley Medical Center’s (RVMC) Board of Trustees to fill the remaining term of the board seat left vacant when Pamela Ward resigned in August, 2023. “We had quite a few fine candidates apply for the open position,” said Les Gilman, President of the Board of Trustees. “Dustin was our choice due to his extensive experience and education in the public sector, plus his early employment with RVMC.”

Tetrault’s objective as an RVMC trustee is to help guide RVMC’s strategic and sustainable growth to meet the needs of the rapidly growing Ruby Valley community and to promote transparency in the planning and fiscal processes. “There has been explosive growth in the Valley,” said Tetrault. “I would like to see RVMC’s growth be a collaborative process with our community and use this opportunity to identify where services are needed.” Tetrault also said that he would like to see RVMC’s greatest asset, its employees, be a significant component of the collaborative planning process.

A native of Central Illinois, Tetrault and his wife, Kathy, moved to the Ruby Valley in 2012 when Kathy accepted a healthcare provider position with the Ruby Valley Hospital. At the time Tetrault was a certified paramedic and worked primarily in the Sheridan clinic and emergency healthcare services. “I was happy to work where I was needed,” said Tetrault. While working as the Emergency Manager for Madison County, Tetrault facilitated the consolidation of Ruby Valley’s volunteer ambulance service with the Ruby Valley Hospital, assisting with the initial business plan, hiring, and the operational budget. He also filled shifts for the new Ruby Valley Emergency Medical Services following the merger.

Tetrault’s professional career in Madison County has included positions as firefighter/paramedic, Madison County DES/Fire Warden and he is currently the Deputy Fire Chief at the Big Sky Fire Department. He also serves the state, region and local area on various boards and committees including the Montana State Chiefs Wildland Fire Committee, as Vice-President of the Southwest Montana Fire Council and as Vice President for the Madison County Local Emergency Planning Committee.

Tetrault has a bachelor’s degree in public safety administration from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio, and a master’s degree in public administration and policy from the University of Montana.

Two of Ruby Valley Medical Center’s Board of Trustee positions are up for election for three-year terms on May 7th. Because Tetrault’s appointment was made after the deadline for candidates to withdraw, his name will appear on the ballot. Please do not vote for Dustin Tetrault on the May 7th ballot as his appointed position is not up for re-election until May, 2025. The valid candidates for two open positions are Les Gilman, Cleve Witham, Jean S. Prough, Reuban Cochran, and Leroy Penn Spell, Jr.
