There is a dynamic relationship between physical and mental health. Our bodies and minds are intricately connected. Over the past few years, RVMC has taken steps to improve the Mental Healthcare options available in the Ruby Valley. Meet our mental healthcare providers and view community resources below.
Judy Weitzel, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Weitzel’s practice includes evaluation of mental health issues, treatment for depression, anxiety, mood and thought disorders, and couples therapy. She manages prescription treatments and can prescribe medications as needed. Weitzel is also a board certified Clinical Nurse Specialist. She has broad-based experience in providing mental health treatments in a variety of inpatient and outpatient facilities. Weitzel has integrated the benefits she has found in outdoor activity into her practice. “I encourage people to get involved in physical activity which I’ve found to be very helpful in improving many mental health issues,” says Weitzel. Weitzel is also keen on reviewing happiness studies to find new ways to improve the well-being of her patients.
Ke'lah Savage, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Ke’lah treats patients of all ages, children through seniors, individuals and families for behavioral health concerns and communications support. She is a certified Synergetic Play Therapist and Adverse Childhood Experience trainer. Ke’lah chose to become a licensed clinical social worker because she feels that social work offers a holistic approach for connecting people with community resources. A clinic social worker is a good fit at the micro level for helping individuals and also at the macro level for developing policy. She likes to keep the lens wide to provide more services to the community. Licensed clinical social workers can bill Medicare for services to elderly individuals.
