Mary Ann Marof & Mac's Renovation

Ruby Valley Medical Center Celebrates Mary Ann Marof and Mac’s Exterior Renovation

(Sheridan, Montana, March 21, 2024) – The Ruby Valley Medical Center (RVMC), Mac’s Pharmacy and the Ruby Valley Auxiliary welcome the Ruby Valley community to participate in honoring Ruby Valley ReRun’s long-time volunteer manager, Mary Ann Marof, and celebrating the recent exterior renovation at Mac’s on Thursday, on April 4th from 12pm-1pm. The celebration will include the presentation of a plaque recognizing Mary Ann Marof’s service to the community, brief presentations by Landon Dybdal, RVMC’s CEO, Carly Moody, Mac’s Pharmacy Director, a ribbon cutting ceremony and refreshments.

Mary Ann Marof has served the Sheridan community for decades as the volunteer manager for Ruby Valley Reruns. “Until recently, Mary Ann has been at ReRuns every day,” said co-volunteer, Colleen Hallock. “As the shop’s manager, she has been our walking handbook for operating ReRuns. MaryAnn has always been a very positive and encouraging leader. She is dedicated to our organization and really loves our work.”

RVMC purchased Mac’s Pharmacy along with the attached building from the Southwest Montana Community Health Center (SWMTCHC) in February, 2023.  “The former Community Health Center side of the building was in bad shape and needed to be redone,” said Moody. Mac’s Pharmacy was built in 2010 as an addition to the former Community Health Center building. Moody said that the exterior of the entire building needed to be remodeled.

The upgrade also included a sidewalk to the rear entrance for pharmacy employees. “We’re very pleased with the new blue siding to match Ruby Valley Medical Center, the decorative rock wainscoting, the new roof and the larger windows. The new sidewalk will keep our employees out of the mud in the spring and fall!” commented Moody.

The Ruby Valley Auxiliary provided $100,000 of the funding for renovating the exterior of Mac’s Pharmacy and the former CHC building. The total cost of the renovation project will be approximately $104,000. “We are very grateful to the Auxiliary for making this generous donation to the project,” said Dybdal. “For many years, the Auxiliary has been an essential partner for a variety of projects promoting healthcare in the Ruby Valley.”

The mission of the Ruby Valley Auxiliary is to support patient care at the Ruby Valley Medical Center including the hospital, clinics, and pharmacy. Since the late 1970s, the Auxiliary has provided an important community service operating Ruby Valley ReRuns, a source for gently used and reasonably priced clothing, books, toys and household items. Profits from Ruby Valley ReRuns fund the Auxiliary’s community healthcare donations and scholastic scholarships to local students planning to enter the medical field. “The ReRuns volunteers are pleased to have another opportunity to make a significant contribution supporting community healthcare in the Ruby Valley,” said Sandra Baril, president of the Ruby Valley Auxiliary. “We are also happy to have this opportunity to show our appreciation to Mary Ann Marof for her many years of service to the community.” Previous donations by the Ruby Valley Auxiliary have supported funding for medical equipment, patient beds, and the construction of the Ruby Valley Medical Center.
