Summer Foot Pain

Updated: Nov 6

Summertime finds us walking more on flat but unforgiving hard sidewalks, in stores, or on softer but uneven ground in mountains and fields. Did you know there are 26 bones in the foot? Now consider there are 24 vertebrae in the spine! If your back can go out of alignment (subluxate), then why not the foot? Two of the most common bones to subluxate are the ankle, which isn’t a surprise. But did you know your heel can subluxate too? Drop a few metatarsals (certain foot bones) in and around the three arches of the foot; add some tight muscles and pain in the foot begins to show up. With proper assessment, plantar fasciitis, collapsed arches, and general foot pain can be evaluated to determine the origin of the pain. Then, we can address the recovery plan.

Dr. Kathy Meyer of Whitehall Chiropractic sees patients at the Twin Bridges clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please call (406) 684-5546 for an appointment.
