The lab's regular business hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and is closed to outpatients on weekends and holidays. Lab personnel are on call for emergency coverage 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, including nights, weekends and holidays. The lab consistently sees an average of 325 to 370 patients per month. Services performed on-site include: hematology and coagulation studies, chemistry, urinalysis, blood banking, rapid serological tests (Strep, Flu, Mono, etc.), and therapeutic phlebotomies. Tests not performed on-site are sent out to one of several laboratory partners daily, as necessary, to accommodate the needs of our community.
The Laboratory at the Ruby Valley Medical Center is here to serve the residents of the Ruby Valley and surrounding communities including Sheridan, Twin Bridges, Virginia City, Alder, Laurin, Whitehall, Silver Star, Cardwell, as well as seasonal residents and occasional visitors. Residents who are being seen by out of town physicians can save themselves a long drive by having their blood work done at the Ruby Valley Medical Center's laboratory with the results electronically sent to their provider.
All our Laboratory Technologists and Technicians are licensed by the State of Montana and are required to obtain continuing education credits annually.
